Outreach
A guiding principle of NCL’s founder, Hamed R. Wardak, is the desire to give back to the Afghan community…to share the results of people living their dreams. With this in mind we at NCL began our Community Outreach program by supporting the National Gallery of Arts Exhibit, “Afghanistan: Hidden Treasures for the National Museum, Kabul”.  The exhibit “revealing Afghanistan’s multicultural heritage are some 228 objects ranging in date from 2200 BC to the second century AD. Drawn from four archaeological sites, they belong to the National Museum of Afghanistan in Kabul and include fragmentary gold bowls with artistic links to Mesopotamia and Indus valley cultures (modern-day Pakistan) from the Bronze Age site of Tepe Fullol; bronze and stone sculptures and a gilded silver plaque from the former Greek colony at Aï Khanum (“Lady Moon”); bronzes, ivories, and painted glassware that had been imported from Roman Egypt, China, and India, and excavated from ancient storerooms discovered in the 1930s and 1940s in Begram; and more than 100 gold ornaments from the “Bactrian Hoard,” found in 1978 in Tillya Tepe, the site of six nomad graves, and revealing a synthesis of Greek, Roman, Persian, Indian, Chinese, and Siberian styles.”

NCL and its employees look forward to the day when all Afghans can study and celebrate the beauty and genius of the country’s artistic and intellectual traditions in its own museums, libraries, schools, and historic sites; free of fear and prejudice.

Community-based, philanthropic outreach is part of NCL’s vision for a new Afghanistan.  We feel that communities and the companies therein must work together for the good of all.  This interdependent relationship is key to success in a country such as Afghanistan.  Every attempt is made to address community needs and we feel it is our social and moral responsibility to insure community building is part of NCL’s long-term strategy.

Our goal is to help the Afghan people help themselves.  By providing employment, training, health care benefits and a steady paycheck, we feel self-reliance is a natural extension of an empowered community.  We continue to plan and grow our nascent community relationships throughout Afghanistan and work together with the Afghan people towards one common goal.  Peace.

NCL is a proud sponsor of the exhibit "Afghanistan: Hidden Treasures from the National Museum, Kabul" at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC.

Proud Past. Free and Vibrant Future.

National GalleryIn the ancient and early medieval periods, Afghanistan, at the crossroads of civilization, was one of the leading centers of world culture and learning. This exhibition, Afghanistan: Hidden Treasures from the National Museum, Kabul, illustrates that rich and diverse heritage. On display after 25 years of protective storage, these 228 extraordinary artifacts attest to the beauty of Afghanistan and the resilient spirit of its people.

NCL, a diversified professional services firm, is honored to sponsor this historic event at the National Gallery of Art. Since its inception, our firm has provided service-oriented solutions to government agencies, private corporations and non-governmental organizations working in Afghanistan and other high-risk environments throughout the world. Guided by a desire for a safer, market-based and democratic future in Afghanistan, our firm is committed to ensuring re-investment in that nation and the surrounding region. Because the Washington, D.C. area is home to our global headquarters, we are especially proud to sponsor this significant exhibition, which bridges Afghanistan's rich past with its emerging, prosperous future.

Our vision includes a world where all Afghans can admire equally the richness and beauty of their country's cultural heritage in Afghanistan's own museums, without fear of prejudice or persecution but instead full of hope and pride. We hope that you enjoy this magnificent show.
